“Only Murders in the Building” star Nathan Lane is among the newest names to join the project, slated to play the fictional family’s wealthy patriarch, Deadline reports.
With Wiig and Midler, Hill is tapping into comic gold, drafting two titans of the genre for his first onscreen role since 2023’s culture-clash comedy “You People.”
“Cut Off” marks his directorial debut for a major studio. Made famous through slapstick in films like “21 Jump Street” and “Superbad,” Hill has been honing his hand behind the camera for several years, serving as an executive producer on the popular new series “Overcompensating” and the HBO show “The Mortician.”
Hill has also retreated from the spotlight in recent years, following claims of sexual misconduct from a former costar and toxic relationship behavior from an ex-girlfriend.
